Network design and installation


A developer of financial and analytical software needed to upgrade its outdated network and domain structure, so as to keep abreast of the technological changes they were facing at their clients’ sites. TSI designed and implemented a new network structure for the client, including a gigabit backbone with multiple rack-mounted servers running Active Directory, MS Exchange and Terminal Services. The results included:

Central server and remote backup


A growing SME luxury goods manufacturer needed a centralised system to administer all of its documentation and accounting, as well as remote and secure sales and management access to data. TSI recommended that the client install a Windows server configured for centralised usage, to allow all users to store their documents securely and to access them from any local or remote workstation. The results included:

A  popular hotel and restaurant in the heart of Sandton had become more reliant on e-mail and the Internet for conducting business, and was seeking a more robust and productive solution than their individual dial-up connections. After investigating a number of offerings, the hotel signed up for TSI’s e-Box – a fully supported e-mail and Internet service for small- and medium-sized businesses. The results included:

Security solution


The SA office of a multinational mining services company required a secure connection to their Europen headquarters. The traditional dedicated leased-line offering was investigated but found to be prohibitively expensive, and the client needed a solution that would interface with existing equipment on the remote side. TSI engineered a secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) solution based on the e-Box e-mail and Internet server and using a standard DSL Internet connection. The results included:

Laboratory Information Management System


A water-testing laboratory had been storing its sample data in multiple spreadsheets. But, as the data volume increased, this became too difficult to manage and analyse.
