LabInfo wins Midvaal tender

TSI's LabInfo LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) has been selected by Midvaal Water Company for implementation at their laboratory.

Until now the lab has been using spreadsheets to manage their data, but this is no longer practical due to increased work volumes.

The company, established in 1954, is situated 15km from Stilfontein in the North West province on the banks of the Vaal river and serves an area of some 900 sq km. It supplies the Greater Municipality of Matlosana (Klerksdorp) as well as the mining and industrial undertakings in the area with potable water. In addition, Midvaal renders operation, maintenance and consultancy services for water treatment plants and sewage works.

The lab analyses water samples from Midvaal's own treatment plants, but the bulk of their work is for external customers.

Says Shalene Morrison, customer services manager at the lab:  “We found that Labinfo was working well for other similar laboratories. TSI had a good reputation for backup service and they offered additional functionalities not found in off-the-shelf products. We value their continuous, exceptional client service and are looking forward to a fruitful LIMS experience.”
